Larry Vales: Reloaded, Larry Vales III, Larry Vales 3, Son of the Son of Larry Vales…whatever you want to call it…will be entirely voice acted. So consider this your chance to feature in this important new project. The casting list is below, in approximate order of the amount of dialogue. I will fill in names as the parts are cast.
Speaking Roles:
Narrator — Philip J Reed
Larry Vales, our hero —
Charlie Striker, his partner —
Commissioner Fishbian, their boss —
Professor Semprini, an unsettled scientist —
Jennifer Campbell, a new officer —
Doctor Kickles, a therapist…of sorts —
Roger Mortis, the local coroner —
Rusty Boyler, a fellow officer —
The Terrible Stagnant Goatman, a mythical beast and fellow officer —
Mysterious Government Agent, as advertised —
Those should exhaust the major roles, though there will be plenty (and I mean plenty) of minor characters as well that will need voices. I will probably assign my major voice actors at least one of those secondary roles, but then again I may just give them out to people who apply but don’t necessarily make their first-choice cut.
In order to apply please post here (so that I’ll be expecting your message) and send a recorded sample of yourself performing the character to chickenbrutus [at] yahoo [dot] com. Include “Larry Vales” in the subject of your email as I have a pretty hyperactive spam filter.
You can record yourself reciting lines from a previous game, lines of your own devising, or anything at all. If you’re truly stuck for something to act out, let me know and I’ll supply you a dummy script. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Will send an audition recording soon. No promises of any quality will be made. I have a child-like voice, so maybe I’ll be a soda jerk!
P.S. DOCTOR KICKLES? YES!
P.P.S. Making a post on the college intranet about the voice acting.

Will send an audition recording soon (have insane workload for the next couple of days, should get it out later in the week – maybe Thursday morning?). No promises of any quality will be made. I have a child-like voice, so maybe I’ll be a soda jerk!

I double posted 17 minutes apart. I don’t even know how you DO that.

I’ll be sending you an email in one second.
You can hear me in video games like Dinotopia, Pagemaster, Who Stole the Vanilla Coke (webgame), and I appeared in Coca-Cola’s talking vending machines.

I really want to audition but I don’t know what to send. May I have a copy of the script to use, please?

I am interested in doing some voice acting.
I don’t have a professional mic, but I’ll make some recordings this evening and send them over.
I guess I’ll just make up things to say…
Sweet!

I’d definitely be interested in doing some voice acting. Can you send some lines and I’ll read though them a couple different ways?

I’m totally interested. Any chance I could get a script? Thanks!

Wow…inundated with interest. I’ll get a more exhaustive character description done this weekend, so you can know precisely what I’m after (though there’s always room for interpretation, trust me) and some dummy lines for everyone.
I’ll probably post it up here on this site…you don’t HAVE to record the dummy lines. They won’t be used in the game so it’s entirely up to you. It’s mainly so I can get a handle on how you intend to play the character.
Regarding file format: pretty much anything is fine for now. I may need a specific format when it comes time to do the actual recording for the game, but I’ll let everyone know well in advance once I figure out what best suits my needs.

Like many people, I was directed this way by Aerothorn. I don’t really know what to say/record. Would it be possible to get the dummy script you mentioned?

Hi Phil,
Layabout from the AGS forums here. I am interested in voice acting for you. I have previous voice-acting experience, and have appeared in Ben Jordan Case 7 and Little Girl in Underland. I will also be appearing in Ben Jordan Case 8.
I’m currently in NY, but I should be able to get some recorded over the weekend.

I’m interested in doing in voice acting for your game. If I could have a dummy script sample to use, that would be great. Thanks very much.

I don’t know if you are still holding auditions for voice actors in your game, but I thought I might post to find out. If you are still in need of voice actors you could send me a dummy script, I’m not good at making up lines on the spot. If you send me a script I could have my audition to you in a few days.
